Life is so short. Each time I listen to any one of Static’s songs I can only wonder what path his musical career would have taken him were he still alive today. This dude is an extremely talented individual and I’m actually sad that I didn’t get familiar with his work before he passed.
Everybody knows Static Major through Lil Wayne’s summer hit, Lollipop, but he has countless other works. I just found out that he worked extensively with Aaliyah on songs like Try Again, We Need A Resolution, and Rock the Boat. Some of his other writing credits include Pony by Ginuwine, You Owe Me by Nas, and On the Hotline by Pretty Ricky.
I was on his MySpace yesterday when I heard apparently one of his older songs, Til the Wheels Fall Off, and now it’s receiving heavy rotation on my iTunes music library. This song is real smooth and he definitely kills it. This song definitely receives my stamp of approval, so please feel free to ride out to this one ‘cuz that’s what I’m doing.
There’s actually another version of this song featuring Pretty Ricky, but that version doesn’t even compare to this one.
The play count for this song right now is 54 in less than 24hrs!!! Yes, it’s that serious.

I’ve been meaning to post this video since I saw the preview on iTunes. Some people are going to find this highly offensive and others are going to think it’s highly hilarious. Obviously, I happen to be on the side that thinks it’s funny.
Everytime I watch this video I can’t help but laugh. The funniest part, aside from the two instances when Justin Timberlake briefly shows up, is when one of the dudes says, “Don’t tell your friends, or I’ll say your a slut… Plus it’s your fault you were rubbing my butt…” LMAO. Whoever came up with the concept for this video is dumb as hell.
About three weeks ago I decided to take drizzy’s advice to “light up the incense and get cozy with your special someone” while listening to some D’Angelo. For obvious reasons, I skipped the incense and coziness part, and decided to listen D’Angelo’s Voodoo album. I must say that How Does It Feel is forever a hit, but I actually got hooked on the last track on that album, Africa.
Some people are probably going to say that the only reason why I’m feeling this song is because I just so happen to be African. That might actually be true, but honestly, it’s more because of what he says. Specifically, what he says in the first few lines of the song: “Africa is my descent… and here I am far from home. ”
Trust me, this isn’t me feeling homesick. Rather, this is my acceptance of where I find myself right now. Plus, ?uestlove kills it on the drums. This reminds me of the skit on the Chappelle show when Dave Chappelle invited John Mayer and ?uestlove to show how people of different races react to different instruments… LMAO
Anyways, here you go. Feel free to vibe to this. Before I forget, the play count for this song is 36 right now.
D’Angelo – Africa
For some reason I think I’m starting to get really drawn to the color red, unless red is the flyest color for sneakers. Or maybe it’s this relatively new patent colors that just seem to catch my eye. Either way, I think these kicks are on some next level s**t. Some people might think otherwise, but guess what, opinions are just like assholes, everyone is entitled to one, and some are full of shit.
Back to the topic at hand. I really don’t have much to say. They fall into my regular criteria = high tops. That’s sad I know, but I’m starting to question how much detail people give to sneakers these days. I might be wrong. Who cares?
Enjoy… i guess.

Any Tyler Perry movie is sure to be a roller coaster ride. It hasn’t been two weeks since I watched Why Did I Get Married? and I’m still dying over how Marcus choked Angela.
I’ve always been a fan of not just his movies, but his character Madea. Madea is one funny a** old lady… or man… whichever. She cracks me up and I can’t wait to see this when once it comes out.
In the mean time I’ll just keep watching some of Tyler Perry’s other plays.
I honestly think I’ve been away for too long… I’m back though.
About two years ago I got into the whole Baltimore Club Music thing and I became addicted to the sounds of DJ Blaqstarr, Rye Rye, and Rod Lee. On iTunes, b’more club songs are usually classified as either electronic or dance, and hip-hop/rap, on ocassion. I started listening to more electronic songs than b’more club songs and I got into this phase, for about almost a year, where all I listened to was electronic songs.
I started listening to artists like Uffie (Pop that Glock is still the s**t), Bonde Do Role, and Apparat. Let’s just say I got a little carried away, but I must admit that I loved every single electronic song I listened to. I actually got mad when people got electronic confused with dance and techno. Actually, I still get mad when people make that mistake LMAO… Anyways, after me and my boy Geoff got to talking about exposing more people to the whole b’more music scene I went back to listening to some b’more club songs and I’m hooked again.
My all-time favorite b’more club song is still probably Tote It, by DJ Blaqstarr, but a lot of songs I’m listening to right now are vying for that spot. Songs like Drunk As F*ck by Tittsworth, Bodymore and Drunk As F*ck, by Aaron Lacrate, and of course Woo-Hah! by DJ Sega are getting heavy rotation right now. Woo-Hah! is my s**t. The constant screaming of “Yeah,” “What!” and “Woo-Hah!” mixed in with the classic b’more bass sounds is just ridiculous. You’re probably thinking I’m crazy, but I’ll post the song some time soon just so you can understand exactly why I’m going crazy over this one song.
I think it’s only right that I at least give you a little preview of my new b’more club playlist. So here’s Supastarr by DJ Blaqstarr.
DJ Blaqstarr – Supastarr
Excuse my manners. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to everyone else who doesn’t celebrate Christmas.

Five hours after, and I’m still in awe at this movie. Will Smith’s performance is Oscar worthy, and Rosario Dawson is simply worth watching. I’m not trying to be cliché, but this movie forces you to think. Some say this movie inspires you to count your blessings, I say it inspires you to share your blessings, whatever they might be.
This movie had almost everyone around me in tears, to say the least. I expected this movie to be one of those classic overrated movies, but I must admit that, so far, it is highly underrated. Don’t worry, I’m not going to spoil the movie for you. All I can say is go see it and then you’ll understand where all this is coming from.
While you guys decide whether or not you’re going to see this movie, I’ll just keep trying to figure out what the “pounds” in the title is referring to.
P.S. – I’m in NY right now and I have limited access to the internet so bear with me for the next couple days.

Plain and simple, this movie is a must-see.
I’ve been a fan of the x-men series since I was a kid so that might be why I am so excited about this movie, but I also think it’s because it also revolves around some of the other x-men characters that usually don’t appear in the movies. Granted the movie is about wolverine, other characters like gambit are also being showcased in the movie.
Based on the preview, I’ll definitely be going to watch this. In the mean time, I’ll just keep watching the preview over and over again…
Please tell me these kicks are not hot just so I can flip out right now. I’ve been on the lookout for these kicks, or “Astronaut Boots,” whichever you prefer, for a minute now and I am yet to find a US retailer… and by US retailer I don’t mean eBay. I am sure that I can get them in the US and I know I probably haven’t tried hard enough, but with a price range of $621.24 would you? I’m a sneakerhead but I’m also a college student with a minimum wage job, so don’t even think about calling me broke. Yea… I said it.
Anyways, these appeal to me for three reasons: hi-tops, leather, and an external pocket pouch. Come on, tell me where you can find these three things on one foot and I’ll give you a million dollars…. OK, maybe not a million dollars but I’ll give you a lot of respect… that’s a lot.
I want these so bad, but since I’m still getting paid minimum wage I’ll just keep looking.
P.S. – I did spell color right in the title of the post… that’s the British spelling… get over it.
I always wondered who the hell this dude was, but it wasn’t until earlier this year that I finally figured it out. There’s a section on Kanye’s blog titled “Fresh Kids” and it wasn’t until he was featured in that section that I finally figured out who Don C was. He is an international hustler who currently resides all over the world and I am definitely trying to get on his status.
I’ve been trying to pull of this look for a while now, but I have been quite hesitant because I think this is a very tailored look that needs careful attention to detail in order to be pulled off properly. I also haven’t figured out what sneakers Don C has on in this picture. Help, anyone? Until then I’ll keep tying to fugure out how to get on my international hustler status.
