This is for all my Drake Fans.

This is for all my electronic fans.

This is for music fans.

Drake’s “Forever” is probably the monster single of the year. Kanye West x Lil Wayne x Eminem = Undisputed Greatness! Just when I thought the buzz surrounding the song had started to wear off, Steve Aoki blessed us with a remix.

For the unfamiliar heads, Steve Aoki A.K.A DJ Steve Aoki Kid Millionaire is not your everyday DJ. Unknown to many, he has remixed some of your favorite songs and some of your parent’s favorite songs. And by some of your parent’s favorite songs I mean Michael Jackson’s “Dancing Machine.” Yes, you read that right. He has also received international acclaim, including the awards for “Best Party Rocker DJ” by BPM Magazine and “Best Mix Album of the Year” by Billboard.

Aoki’s “Forever” remix is a treat. I was blasting it at work and I could see why he won that Best Party Rocker DJ award ‘cuz virtually everyone who walked by me either made a comment giving props or broke out in dance. Lord knows what I would do if I could make hot chicks break out into dance at will… lol

Without further ado, I give you Steve Aoki’s remix of “Forever.”

more about “STRAIGHT NO CHASER (CONCEPT VIDEO)“, posted with vodpod

This is my favorite song off Mr Hudson’s upcoming album Straight No Chaser. I’m still tryna figure out who produced this song, but my top source – Wikipedia – hasn’t been too helpful.

I came across this video on none other than Kanye West’ blog and I was completely blown away. The video is by Matt Perri, or at least according to vimeo it is, and he did a great job with the video editing. You would think this was an official video the way the different scenes match up almost perfectly to the song lyrics.

I don’t know about you but this video has definitely awoken my inner producer, so don’t be surprised if you see a concept video by yours truly sometime soon… lol. I would post the mp3 for the song but my respect for Mr Hudson’s musical talent prevents me from doing so.

The guys over at najle.com made an online tool for the Daft Punk console, and no lie, I spent the first 30mins after I saw this trying to recreate Kanye West’s hit, Stronger.

To people who might not be big fans of Kanye West, or Daft Punk, this might be a rather useless application, but to everyone else this is the s**t. This makes me wanna get the futuristic Daft Punk robot and helmet costume and rock out to this s**t.

The console is really easy to use. All you have to do is place your headphones (or speakers) and click on the buttons or tap on the keyboard letters as shown on the screen.

Apparently, there’s an iDaft application for the iPhone and iPod touch in the works, so be on the look out for that as well.

Click here to use the console and get your daft punk on.

Kanye’s whole performance on VH1 Storytellers was crazy. I loved the set ‘cuz of the lights and the stage. I don’t know if anyone noticed but the stage seemed to be up at an angle, which I thought was really creative.

One of my favorite songs of the entire performance was Stronger. Even though they used drums for the entire performance I really liked how it sounded on Stronger.

Kanye West – Stronger (VH1 Storytellers)

I just peeped the pictures from the performance over at VH1’s storytellers page. These are some of my favorites:

The folks over at KanyeLive did it real major by making a mixtape of all the tracks Kanye performed.

“Let me take you to flight school… we’ll learn to fly…”

I love this song. It’s kinda hard to explain, but there’s something about the song that just hits hard.

This one of those songs that you just listen and nod to. Feel me? Listen for yourself.

P.S. – This is another borrowed link. Once again, it’s from 2dope. What can I say? They have the most reliable links. MOMB links will be up soon!

more about “KID CUDI & KANYE WEST FREESTYLE ON 10…“, posted with vodpod

Kid Cudi is definitely on his come up, but ‘Ye kills it on that freestyle. Now I’m on a f***ing mission to find that song.

For some reason when I saw this video I thought of a line from Yeezy’s verse on E-40’s Tell Me When To Go (Remix):

“Ay pimp, its Yay pimp/40 told me they f**k wit’ me in the bay pimp.”

Go figure!

Trust me, I’m all for Valentine’s Day, but I think this is a really creative campaign fo Kanye West’s album, 8O8s and Heartbreaks.

This performance was phenomenal, to say the least. I don’t know about you, but shivers went down my spine as I was watching the performance.

I gotta give it to M.I.A ‘cuz that was a ridiculous stunt that she pulled coming on stage when she was to due to have her baby that night.

This picture is on some iconic s**t and I give props to whoever took this. All I think of saying each time I see this pic is HOVA!… for real.

This pic right here says it all. I have no further comments, except that if you didn’t see this performance you’re really slacking.

I’m sure you’re all still recovering from last year’s Pop Champagne craze. Everybody and anyody made a remix to Pop Champagne, from Papoose to Rick Ross, although the best remix is arguably Pop Rose by Drake and Trey Songz. Although Ron Browz has definitely been in the game for a while now, he finally went major last year.  Some of his more recent production credits include Rotate by N.O.R.E., Winding On Me by Fat Joe, and his own relatively new single Jumping (Out The Window). Ron Browz is definitely capitalizing on his new found fame as he is set to release his new album, Jumping Out The Window, on March 17.

Rock City definitely took over the summer with their smash single Loosin It, and they are determined to stay relevant by hopping on as many songs as possible, from Guns High by Ace Hood, to Hustle by E-40. Their sound is unique and the world just can’t seem to stop eating up every song they come out with. They have also put out a number of mixtapes, my favorite being the Put The F*ckin Album Out mixtape. Every song on that mixtape is pure fire! Rock City is set to release their debut album, Wake the Neighbors, sometime this year, but in the meantime you can listen to any of their various mixtapes.

Aubrey Graham a.k.a Drake or Drizzy, whichever you prefer, is yet to truly take the world by storm, but 2009 is definitley his year. With songs like Brand New, Pop Rose, and Ransom, among others, Drake is starting to become a household name. Honestly, Drake would be numero uno on this list, if not for something I’d like to refer to as the “T” Factor. Althoug Drake is a familiar name in Toronto, Canada, of which he is a native, he is yet to get the recognizable mainstream promo in the U.S. that many of the other artists on this list boast. I like to refer to Drake as “The Most Slept On,” but with co-signs from Trey Songz and Lil Wayne, the stage is set for him to truly take the world by storm in 2009. Be on the look out for Drake’s next mixtape So Far Gone.

I’m just doing what I gotta do, flyer than the rest of ’em, still got my Nike boots…” and that’s how Wale’s hit single Nike Boots begins. Wale has definitely been on the come up for  a while now. I was already bumpin’ to the sounds of Wale way before his smash hit Nike Boots went mainstream. I still remember in the summer of 2007, on the 4A bus to Rosslyn Station, wildin’ out to Wale’s Ice Cream Girl off his 100 Miles And Running mixtape. That’s my s**t. Once I listened to that mixtape I knew he was gonna blow up. All I know is that the world still hasn’t seen the best of Wale and he has the opportunity to  do big things ‘cuz he defnitely has everyone’s attention now.

If you still haven’t heard Day ‘n’ Nite then you’re definitley drawlin’ LMAO. The remixes by Jim Jones and Collie Buddz are fire! Day ‘n’ Nite might be one of Cudi’s more popular songs, but don’t be confused, that song doesn’t define his talent. Go listen to his mixtape, a KiD named CuDi, and you’ll see exactly what I mean. That s**t is knockin. Oddly, my favorite song on that mixtape by far is Embrace the Martian, but don’t sleep on songs like Maui Wowie and Is There Any Love? featuring Wale. Kid Cudi has also gotten publicity through Kanye West’s latest album, 808s and Heartbreak, as he is featured on the album’s second track, Welcome to Heartbreak. I don’t know what else to say except that 2009 is the year of the Kid.

International Hustler

I always wondered who the hell this dude was, but it wasn’t until earlier this year that I finally figured it out. There’s a section on Kanye’s blog titled “Fresh Kids” and it wasn’t until he was featured in that section that I finally figured out who Don C was. He is an international hustler who currently resides all over the world and I am definitely trying to get on his status.

I’ve been trying to pull of this look for a while now, but I have been quite hesitant because I think this is a very tailored look that needs careful attention to detail in order to be pulled off properly. I also haven’t figured out what sneakers Don C has on in this picture. Help, anyone?  Until then I’ll keep tying to fugure out how to get on my international hustler status.
